  1. Enterprise Onboarding

Establish Your Team’s Apidog Workflow

Confirm that representative users can complete the team's real day-to-day work in the validated pilot Project. Choose the workflows that matter now; do not use this phase as a general product demo or full training program.
Journey: Enterprise Onboarding Journey → Set Up Secure Enterprise Access → Migrate and Validate Your API Data → Establish Your Team's Apidog Workflow

Choose one or two workflows to validate#

Ask which work the team must complete now, then select one workflow, or at most two. Use the same pilot Project validated during the migration phase.
WorkflowUse whenPrimary ownerOpen these guides
Design and reviewThe team will create, update, or review endpoints in Apidog.API owner or Project AdminDesign APIs in Apidog, Collaboration Workflow, and Comments
Documentation and publishingThe team must share or publish API documentation for collaborators or consumers.Documentation ownerSharing API Documentation, Quick Share, Publish APIs in Apidog, and Publishing Documentation Sites
Request execution and debuggingThe team needs to send requests against a real environment.Developer or QA ownerMaking a Request, Environment Management, and Authentication and Authorization in Apidog
Automated testingThe team must prove a request, assertion, or test scenario in Apidog.QA ownerAutomated Tests in Apidog, Create a Test Scenario, and Run a Test Scenario
Collaboration and governanceThe team needs review, comments, membership maintenance, organization-wide policies, or audit evidence.Team Admin or operations ownerManaging Project Members, Team Roles & Permissions, Enterprise Policies, and Audit Logs
Open only the guides that match the selected work. If the team cannot name a real workflow or the pilot Project is not usable, return to Migrate and Validate Your API Data before continuing.

Run a focused validation session#

Use a focused session when the organization has an established process or a high-value enterprise use case. The session should answer specific workflow questions and prove that the team can repeat the work.
1.
Name the workflow and the people who will own it after onboarding.
2.
Use the validated pilot Project. Do not switch to a sample Project.
3.
Open only the guide that matches the selected workflow.
4.
Have a representative user complete the action, not only the implementation owner.
5.
Stop when the action works and the user can repeat it without a live walkthrough.
Keep the scope focused
Do not expand the session into full product training. If the workflow is blocked, record the blocker, open the matching guide, and complete one action. Improve missing or unclear Help content separately instead of copying detailed procedures into this checkpoint page.

Prove the result#

Record the selected workflow, who completed it, the observable result, and the owner of any exception.
Selected workflowRepresentative userObservable resultResult or exception owner
The user completed the action in the validated pilot Project.
The same user can repeat the action without a live walkthrough.
The source of the users and the source of the API data no longer affect this checkpoint. Validate the working result in Apidog.

Extend automation only when it is part of the selected workflow#

If the pilot workflow includes automated execution in the team's delivery process, first create and run the test scenario in Apidog. Then use CI/CD in Apidog for the matching pipeline setup. Do not add CI/CD work to onboarding when it is not required for the selected workflow.

Confirm enterprise controls when they apply#

Validate enterprise controls only when they are part of the agreed process:
Use Enterprise Policies for supported organization-wide security and management rules.
Use Audit Logs when Organization Owners or Organization Admins need evidence of security-related organization activity. Audit Logs provide evidence; they are not a rollback mechanism.
Use Team Roles & Permissions and Managing Project Members to confirm that the workflow owner has the required Project access.
Use Vault Secret in Apidog when the workflow depends on secrets from a supported external vault.
Review the deployment guidance in the Enterprise Onboarding Journey before following a workflow that differs between Apidog SaaS and Apidog On-Premises.

Hand over ongoing ownership#

Onboarding is successful when the team can continue without a live implementation session. Name the owner for each item that applies.
Name the owner forWhy it matters after handover
Pilot Project and first APIsSomeone must maintain the migrated content after the onboarding session.
User invitation or SSO operationsThe next group of users should follow the access route already validated in Set Up Secure Enterprise Access.
Environments, secrets, and authorizationImported Projects can still depend on local values or settings that were not transferred. Use Environment Management, Authentication and Authorization in Apidog, and Vault Secret in Apidog as needed.
Audit and access exceptionsOrganization and Project administrators need a clear owner for reviewing evidence and correcting access. Use Audit Logs and Managing Project Members.

Complete the workflow phase#

One or two real workflows were selected from the team's current process.
Representative users completed the selected workflows in the validated pilot Project.
The users can repeat the actions without a live walkthrough.
Project, access, environment, secret, and exception owners are named where applicable.
The team knows which guide to open when it needs the detailed procedure.
This phase is complete when representative users can complete the agreed workflow with the migrated Project and ongoing ownership is clear.
Journey complete: Return to the Enterprise Onboarding Journey when another Team is ready to start the same three-phase process. Remaining work for the current Team continues as normal Team and Project operations.
